my Third Hometown Toronto

Photo

Third Hometown Toronto

Today is January 14th. This is the day I've changed a lot in my life.

It's the day it started.

It's the day I immigrated to Canada.

On January 14, 1977, at 10:00 PM, we left Gimpo Airport from Japan.

I transferred to Vancouver and then to Toronto.

I transferred and finally arrived in Toronto after a long journey.

What I can't forget about that day is that it's raining in Bencuver, but we arrived in Toronto.

Hani has a blizzard at minus 23 degrees Celsius. It's a very bad day.

That's what happened.

My family had to dress up at my brother's house in Victoria Park.

My immigrant life has begun.

Forty-six years have passed since then.

When I was 35 years old, I was 81 years old, and my daughter, who was 13 years old, was 59 years old.

My son, who was 9 years old, turned 55.

As soon as I came here, I went to Menpower School where I learned English.

I learned English for 6 months and received money every week.

This period was a very dreamlike time.

Soon after the Menpower School was over, I jumped into the life front.

First, I was a hotel cleaner for 6 months, and then I cleaned the dishes for 6 months.

With the help of my wife's money and neighbors, I started buying and operating sloppy shops in Young and Lawrence.

Since it started empty-handed, I was the only one who had a hard time.

They started to take their seats.

I found out about the  k b a  after running a store. I worked hard as a director for 15 years as a director.

The Korean Association also worked hard as a director for 20 years.

Furthermore, he participated in the Senior Golf Association, Buddhist Association, Mugunghwa Association , etc.

I engaged in active social activities.

Also, I've been working hard on internat activities, so I'm running 6 homepage.

The number of visits has now exceeded 7 million.

When i immigrated to Canada, i led my family with no special skills.

It was difficult to start immigration, but it was loved by many people.

I always enjoyed happiness beyond my means.

Also, I lived in a rewarding and overwhelming hope.

And I've been so attached to it for 46 years.

This place has become my hometown now.

This is my third home.

My first hometown is Kaesong, Gyeonggi-do, where I was born.

However, for me, i escaped to geasung  when I was 9 years old due to the Korean War, my hometown and my friend's face remain in a faint memory that I have no memory of.

My second hometown is Seoul.

The place where I met and settled with my brother, who had been wandering from place to place,

Jeonnong-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul.

Study resumed at the late age of 12 leaving school at the age of 19 and going to the construction site

The small shop that started wandering was a hard life, but I lived a very rewarding life in a small volunteer work.

My volunteer work was published in the media, my handwriting was elected, and it was a one-act play on TV.

When the 36th episode was aired in a row, I was so moved. 23 years.

Seoul is my second hometown.

We're working hard today with a heart that's pounding.

For tomorrow's beautiful immigration life.

Thank you for supporting us to have a wonderful immigration life.

Like waves in the Mugunghwa Garden

Like waves in the Mugunghwa Garden

If you ask me, "What's the biggest task of the year?" I will readily answer,

"It's the Mugunghwa Love Meeting Memorial Day event."
For me, Memorial Day events are very precious, rewarding, enjoyable, and giving hope and happiness.

This year, it was held in the 12th James Garden Sang-on Mugunghwa Garden.
Previously, I packed flowers and supplies at Dalasang and Supermarket while I was packing supplies at home, but I was happy and worried that my wife, who had never participated in the Memorial Day event, would participate this year. So I hurriedly bought flowers and wire and left home around 9:30.
When I arrived at the park, the chairman came first.

Every year, i have to report a park rally before the event, but when i look at the park, the park employee stands out and approaches i with a stuttering tone

"Memorial Day event is held every year at the Mugunghwa Love Gathering, and it is held today."
"It's a very good thing. “
"First, Nadine, who is in charge, is promoted to the Bureau of Management, and I'm Paul, who is in charge of temporary management."
"It's a pity that people don't seem to know that we enjoy freedom because of them who sacrificed their lives for our country.“
I was so happy and excited to see how kind you are to me even if I stutter because my English is short.

One event guide sign and two bouquets of flowers were placed in two hills and a large Taegeukgi was erected. Meanwhile, I saw some happy faces.
Hankook Ilbo President Kim Myung-kyu, Buddhist Association President Choi Jong-hak, Hanka Senior Association Chairman Lee Woo-hoon, Veterans Association Chairman Song Seung-bak, Writer Byun Eui-seop, Chairman Kim Geun-rae, and Elder Jung Jin-hong were all welcome and grateful.
At 11 o'clock, the ribbon began to hang. Divided into two teams, 516 red ribbons in honor of 516 Korean war victims hung from the branches of Mugunghwa trees. The ribbon flower was really beautiful.

Just looking at the flowers containing 516 souls that bloom in only one place in the world makes my heart race and my heart race.
After wearing the ribbon, we had a tea party with the food prepared by the chairman after a brief greeting from the chairman. I didn't know that many people would leave because they met after a long time.

People who visit the park look at it with strange eyes at first, but after knowing the story,
" "Thank you, thank you". I was so moved
In the meantime, there are things that I will not forget during the Memorial Day event.
A middle-aged Kennedy stood in front of Mugunghwa Garden and began to cry wildly. It's not just crying, it's just raising your shoulders and bawling.
I don't know what to say. "What's wrong with you?I asked him,

"My father participated in the Korean War, but he died not long ago.“
"I'm thankful and I thought of my father.“

When I heard the sound, I cried with joy and gratitude.
I hugged her for a moment. And she doesn't know how grateful she was to bring her mother the next year.

Once again, two grandmothers came to the venue and thought it was weird
"It's to honor the souls of 516 Canadians who survived the Korean War"
He gave me a big hug as he said "thank you, thank you"

I don't know how happy I was or how happy I was at that moment.
And one time, I was cleaning up the Memorial Day event facilities, and two women approached me and said, "What are you doing? When asked, "I put on 516 ribbons for the victims of the Canadian war who sacrificed themselves in the Korean War, but I'm cleaning them up today," the two women began to help out, repeating "Thank you, thank you." I was so grateful for them that I was so grateful.
In fact, it was during Chairman Kim Byung-sun that I started having such a wonderful, beautiful, and great meaningful event. Was it around July 2011? Chairman Kim Byung-sun asked me.
"Chairman Lim, how about holding a Memorial Day event with 516 ribbons on Memorial Day in Canada?"“
I was excited about the wonderful idea when I answered, "Okay."
"Then Chairman Lim makes a phrase for the event. I'll make a ribbon.“
In that way, Chairman Kim Byung-sun hurriedly made 516 ribbons, and the first Memorial Day event of the Mugunghwa Love Group began on Canadian Memorial Day in November 2011.

I really can't forget Chairman Kim Byung-sun who made such a great and wonderful event.
" Thank you, Chairman Kim. “

I don't know.
And thank you so much for your interest and support.
I don't know if I did.
Even though it's just a number, even if it's 43 years old, I'm not familiar with English.
It's like a dream.
The only thing that could make an English homepage for me who was so ignorant of English was that

Ah! Mugunghwa of Korea.

.

.Ah! Mugunghwa of Korea.

As a Korean national, I have settled in Toronto, Canada.
It's been 37 years.
My immigration life is always fruitful, full of hope, full of happiness.
I did.
I'm not sure if I can live happily and happily in a strange foreign land like this way
I think there is because there is my country called Republic of Korea
I always remember and keep it in my heart.
But these days, I've never had more joy, more joy, more God than ever.
I'm living in a state of overflowing emotion.
And there's something that makes me live a wonderful life.
It is none other than Mugunghwa.
I know everyone thinks Mugunghwa gives them so much pleasure and happiness.
For me, Mugunghwa is more than anyone else than my family.
I feel more love and value it.
Then why did you become so attached to Mugunghwa?
I'll tell you a story about my Mugunghwa to those who think I'm doing it.
I do.
Our country is the Republic of Korea, the national anthem that represents Korea.
There is a national flag, Taegeukgi, and Mugunghwa is a national flower.
Here in Toronto, people who love Mugunghwa gathered in 2003.
Mugunghwa Sarang Gathering, which promotes Mugunghwa and distributes Mugunghwa, is made and stirred.
I joined the club in 2005 with the introduction of an acquaintance.
It was very nice to meet you.
And the following year, 2006 Mugunghwa Love Gathering held a very special event.
Got it.
This is the heart of Toronto's largest building, on Yunver City Boulevard in front of the Capitol.
They planted a 5-year-old, 65-year-old guru in the seperate
This is Sejong-ro in front of the Central Office, and it is a major hospital, court, U.S. Embassy, and city hall.
This is where government buildings are concentrated.
How happy and thrilled the moment was when the rose of Sharon was planted in such a point.
I still can't forget that moment.
And this time, the Mugunghwa Garden in the University of Toronto was opened in 2007.
It's been made.
This is the place that the university prepared especially for Pastor Sang-chul.
Not only is it the most respected in our Korean community, but it is also the University of Toronto.
I was moved and moved by what was respected in
And what made me even more excited was the 2007 Mugunghwa Love Gathering.
Maybe it's because he became co-chairman.
After this Sangcheol Mugunghwa Garden, this time in Christie's Park, Mugunghwa
Forty Guru has been planted.
This is the four-way street where Brewer and Christie meet, the center of Koreatown.
In the park, soccer, baseball, and various Korean events are held.
I couldn't feel the joy and emotion.
in 2008 in the famous Gems Garden in Toronto, with 50 sacks of Mugunghwa.
Mugunghwa has been built.
This place is famous for tearing wedding photos because of its beautiful flower garden and more than eight pairs a day.
He won't accept it.
As soon as you enter the entrance of the park, you can see Mugunghwa Hill in front of you.
I think it's a miracle to get in, and it's also a big one.
It can't be fruitless.
It was followed by 2012.
This time again, a miracle happened at the Mugunghwa Love Gathering, which is famous in Toronto.
Park Edward Park and Alexander Park create the second third Mugunghwa Garden.
It's getting wet.
Edward Park is one of the most famous parks in Toronto, with beautiful flower gardens, greenhouses and
It's a multi-kilometre walkway that has a constant number of visitors all year round.
The construction of the Mugunghwa Garden at the entrance of this place is also a miracle and touching moment.
No, I can't feel it.
Now, in 2013, this year, Mugunghwa Love Gathering had a huge business.
First of all, in the history of peace in Toronto, Mugunghwa Complex and Memorial Mugunghwa Garden are wet.
Peace History in Canada's longest 12085 Young Street connecting east and west of Canada
On May 25, 2013, about 150 Korean residents from Toronto gathered in the precinct to 200 Guru, who were born in 5 to 10 years.
The Mugunghwa complex was created and the 2.3 year-old Mugunghwa of 516 Guru was planted in Canada 625
A memorial Mugunghwa Garden is made and stirred to commemorate the 516 people who were reincarnated in the Korean War.
The only Mugunghwa memorial park in the world can be easily built.
What happened was peace, of course, the monk's work. Jeon Gap-jin, a Toronto resident,
It's all thanks to the donation of 700 sacks of Mugunghwa from home.
Right after I built the memorial Mugunghwa Hill, I shed tears in the middle of the hill.
There was no way to control it.
A few days after the Mugunghwa complex was built, June 1st, this time a busy road in Toronto.
The fourth Mugunghwa Garden on the southeast side of the intersection where Sein Clear and Caledonia meet.
make and stir
Hundreds of thousands of cars a day, drawing admiration for Mugunghwa.
When I see it, I automatically smile, my heart trembles, and my heart beats.
In addition, the Mugunghwa Love Club has the Embassy of the Korean Embassy and other places.
On Memorial Day in Canada, Mugunghwa Garden is a popular destination for many organizations and families.
Every year, 516 ribbons were attached to honor the 516 Yeonghyeon who participated in the Korean War and were revived.
They are holding memorial events and recruiting photos of Mugunghwa.
He produced pictorials, built pagodas in the Memorial Mugunghwa Garden, set up a foundation, and even in Canadian society.
It will develop into a notable attraction, and furthermore, the 7-kilometer walkway in the Peace Temple compound will be turned into Mugunghwa.
Decorated and turned into a Mugunghwa Walkway to develop into Mugunghwa Park of Myeongsil Gonghoe.
We will do our best to promote Mugunghwa and promote the love of Mugunghwa.
Now I don't know how much joy, reward, hope and happiness I have.
Mugunghwa is precious to me and has become a life to me.
I will be with Mugunghwa for the rest of my life.
Because it is my reward and happiness.

With spending a year
With spending a year;

It’s been a month since New Year’s Day by the solar calendar and
it’s going to be New Year’s Day by the lunar calendar.
Accordingly it’s already the 2003 by the solar calendar
but until now we are living in the 2002 by the lunar calendar.
I’m thinking about last the 2002 and make plan for
 this New Year coming.
I think last year was specially emotional and thoughtful for me.
First, my age was 60 year-old in last year. Second,
it’s been 25 years since I immigrated to Canada.
I ever told about my three hopes through this reader’s column
on last New Year’s Day. Those hopes were writing book,
my son’s marriage and Korean Association without debit.
Although I regret that I have nothing to accomplish the hopes
until end of this year, I can say that it was wonderful
and emotional year for me. First of all, it was the garden of
Korean Association that was full with beauty. Even if
it was managed by me who don’t have experience and knowledge
about gardening, it was getting in full blossom and beautiful
so that I couldn’t skip to see it even for one day.
I have also spent worthwhile time. I was participated
in sale Korean candy at the Caravan Festival and did a
masked dance in a costume parade on Easter Day.
I helped to manage parking and guide visitor to Korean Hall
during the World Cup Soccer Series and again sold Korean
candy at the Korean’s Day Festival. When around my shop
was flooded, I got rid of the obstacle that was cause of
the flood and then it was getting back to normal immediately.
At that time I was so pleased and satisfied to what I’d done.
What a worthwhile and wonderful year!
I can also say that it was honorable year for me.
I was selected the one of 100 Koreans in the year and then
awarded the Korean Prize. I never forget the moment that was
the best moment in my life when I was interviewed at radio
and newspaper. I met important guests from Munhwa Broadcasting
Station, Korea after my awarding the Korean Prize. They came
to pick up my life story and got my photograph taken
for 3 days. The story was telecasted at the Photo essay
program from January 21st to January 22nd and now
I can see the program through Internet at anywhere and anytime.
It makes me so happy and honorable.
In addition these, I did an important thing in last year.
It was a learning computer. Now I can use computer and
Internet as well. What a miraculous and exciting thing!
I think last year was really beautiful, worthwhile and
honorable for me. It’s not exaggeration that it was the
 best year in my life.
I will go on continuingly and do my best in everything.
I’m going to make my homepage on the Internet, so that
it can make anybody read my essay and news, listen to radio,
watch VOD, have time of meditation and so on….
I’m so happy and exciting right now for these reasons.
Thank you very much for helping me these days and happy New Year!
