Job Description :
The Distribution Center Associate is responsible for performing several cross-functional warehouse activities within the distribution center, located in Mississauga, in accordance with established guidelines and procedures such as loading, unloading, picking and stacking of merchandise. The Distribution Center Associate will be subject to fulfill some of the following duties:
Job Requirements :
Receiving:
- Receive incoming merchandise based on distribution center procedures, verifying proper counts of materials against purchase orders
- Stock inventory in the proper location, separating a portion of merchandise for quality control assessments
- Palletize merchandise for immediate transport, ensuring proper placement and securement
Quality Control:
- Inspect merchandise for damages, defects, or other problems based off of QC guidelines
- Report to supervisor any garment issues and status of merchandise audits
Production:
- Quickly and accurately pick merchandise for multiple orders
- Assemble customer orders, ensuring accuracy and proper packing
- Scan shipping carton ID#’s; print and tag shipping labels onto each parcel
- Seal individual cartons and place on conveyor belt for automated sorting and shipping
- Stack orders onto pallets, ensuring proper placement and securement
Stock:
- Under direct guidance, stock merchandise in the proper location to ensure easy accessibility of inventory
- Locate merchandise from storage and transport goods to picking locations for allocation and sorting
Miscellaneous:
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, alerting supervisors to possible hazards
- Ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by supervisors or management
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Experience in a large scale warehouse/distribution center environment preferred, but not required
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move items up to 40lbs using proper safety methods
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include working weekends, graveyard shifts, holidays, etc.
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
